This painting is based on a series of photos I took on a walk with my dog along the rocky New England shore. A storm was rolling in and we watched as distant clouds carried rain toward us. Through my hair whipping across my eyes, I could make out rich purples and browns undulating through the sky. The colors changed quickly, as weather often does, and I rushed home to translate what I’d seen on canvas. Hopefully this piece helps you feel the wind on your face, too.
